Snorkeling and video taping safely on reef in Hauhine Tahiti in about 3 feet of water. Protected by the reef from the ocean, we explored taking photos and video of the wildlife. We moved into an area that was slightly deeper and saw a needle fish. Joy started shooting it with her cam and suddenly we both found ourselves being swept into an area that was apparently the outpour into the ocean. The extremely strong current shot us outward towards the deep ocean. Wearing no fins, we were unable to swim against the strong current to get back in. At the very last second we caught hold of the reef and were able to pull ourselves up onto it avoiding what could have been very bad. Camera turns off part way through little scare, but this gives you an idea of how quickly it happened.
